The Summerville girls softball team wrapped up their last full week of April league play with a win over cross-town rival Sonora and a loss to Linden.

In action against the Wildcats, the Bears rode a five-run fifth inning to a 7-4 win.

Savanah Egger pitched through seven for Summerville with seven strikeouts. Egger also contributed a run.

Kaci Elkins had a strong night at the plate, leading the Bears with three hits in four at-bats. Laikin Skinner had two hits in three at-bats.

Bianca Nieves, Becky Hart and Hailey Norton each had a hit. Kelsey Burr got the complete game for Sonora with 14 strikeouts.

Paige Houcke led the ‘Cats with three hits. Lucy Hessler, Kelsey Burr, Kylie Kress and Hanna Santos each had a hit.

On the road at Linden, the Bears lost 10-0 after the Lions got on the board early with two runs in the first. Kaci Elkins, Savanah Eggers, who pitched five innings for the Bears, Laikin Skinner and Chelsea Caperton each had a hit.
