The season is over for the Columbia men’s basketball team after a 60-50 loss to Cabrillo College in round two of the California Community College Athletic Association.
After trailing 31-28 at the half, the second quarter was a game of back-and-forth.
Then came the final five minutes when the Seahawks’ pressure would hold the Jumpers to just one shot attempt.
“Cabrillo made a couple of tough shots in that time frame and made their free throws to ice the game,” said assistant coach Rick Francis.
Leading the way on scoring for the Jumpers was Marquell Hubbard who had 15 points.
Maurice Woods had 12 points.
Columbia finished in second place in the Central Valley division with an 11-3 league record and a 17-8 overall finish.
“The Jumper Nation would like to thank the community for their great support all season long,” said Francis. “ A special thanks to the Jumpers Pep Band who brought extra spirit to each home game.”
