Calaveras, the #3 seed in Division IV Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, defeated #6 seed Ripon 57-49 Thursday night at home in San Andreas. Sonora was eliminated from the Division IV playoffs Tuesday this week when they lost on the road to Livingston.

Calaveras and Argonaut both won their second-round elimination games Thursday night in CIF Sac-Joaquin Section girls basketball playoffs, earning both teams places in the Division IV semifinals to be played Monday at El Dorado High School in Placerville and at Argonaut in Jackson.

Calaveras is seeded #3 in Division IV and they defeated #6 seed Ripon 57-49 on Thursday at home in San Andreas. They advance to play #2 seed El Dorado on the road at 7 p.m. Monday.

Argonaut is seeded #1 in Division IV and they beat #9 seed Dixon 73-66 on Thursday at home in Jackson. They advance to play #12 seed Hughson, who have pulled off two straight upsets on the road of higher-seeded teams to get this far in the win-or-go-home postseason competition.

Winners of the semifinals playoffs scheduled Monday at El Dorado and at Argonaut will advance to the Division IV final, which is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 at Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento.
