Freshman runner Brie Personius and sophomore runner Adin Dibble, both representing Sonora High School, placed 17th and 20th out of hundreds of runners in the 5000-meter races at the 2019 CIF State Cross Country Championships staged Saturday at Woodward Park, Fresno.

More than 200 runners started in the Division 4 girls 5000 meters and Personius, the varsity girls 2019 Sac-Joaquin Section 5000 meters champion, finished 17th in 18 minutes 41.3 seconds.

There were also more than 200 runners in the Division 4 boys 5000 meters and Dibble finished 20th in 15 minutes 59.2 seconds.

“We are proud of the tremendous accomplishments this season by our cross country team,”  coach Frank Garcia said. “Both have great opportunities for future success.”
