Dodge Ridge Ski Area in Pinecrest has announced it’s set to open for the 2019-20 season at 9 a.m. Friday after receiving more than five feet of snow since last week.
The resort announced the news Monday morning through its website and Facebook page, which said that up to 80 percent of the mountain is scheduled to be open.
“It’s looking like we will have an amazing Opening Day this Friday … and we’re just as excited about getting this season started as you are,” the resort stated on its Facebook page.
Storms since last Tuesday dumped more than 62 inches of snow on the mountain, including about 44 inches at the summit and about 19 inches at the base.
The resort was projected to receive about 5 more inches of snow through Monday night, followed by an additional 1 to 2 feet from another storm that’s expected to arrive on Friday.
Jeff Hauff, Dodge Ridge’s director of marketing and sales, said on Friday that they are currently hiring people 14 and older to fill seasonal winter positions in a variety of departments.
Walk-in job interviews are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., seven days a week, or applications can be submitted online through the resort’s website.
The resort opened for the 2018-19 season on Dec. 1 last year and closed on April 1 after receiving a total of nearly 43 feet of snow, including more than 10 feet during December and January.
