The Columbia College Claim Jumpers men’s basketball team, coaches and supporters are pumped for their home opener against Marin College, scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. Saturday. Columbia’s Jumpers play again at 6 p.m. Sunday against Diablo Valley College.

Columbia College is a member of the California Community College Athletic Association’s Central Valley Conference. The Jumpers went on the road last weekend and defeated Cosumnes River College 90-76 and Folsom Lake College 94-81 at a two-day tournament hosted by Folsom Lake  Community College, Rick Francis with the Columbia coaching staff said this week.

Francis says Columbia has 11 players on the men’s roster, including returning point guard Seth Coddington and shooter Landis Spivey who scored 31 points on Folsom Lake. The Jumpers expect to be playing exciting and up-tempo ball this weekend, Francis said. Jumpers head coach Rob Hoyt could not be reached for comment.
