The Sonora High School varsity boys basketball team swept through their opponents in the annual Columbia College Holiday Tournament, capturing the title without losing a game.

After picking up a Round 1 win against against Ceres (74-31), Sonora faced off against Stagg in Friday night action.

They won 65-62. Austin Patterson led scoring with 30, Trey Hawkins had 13 and Colton Henderson had seven.

They met Lodi in Saturday’s championship game, cruising to a 69-49 victory.

Summerville finished the tournament with a close loss to Escalon, 71-39.

The Wildcats start league play Jan. 8 when they host Calaveras HighSchool. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Bears boys will host Argonaut Tuesday, Jan. 8. Varsity takes the court at 7:30 p.m.
