Sonora High School’s Wildcats football will face Foothill High School in the second round of the Sac-Joaquin Division V playoffs Friday night at home.

Fifth-ranked Foothill ran over twelfth seed Pioneer High Friday night in Sacramento 55-12.

Sonora, ranked fourth, had a record of 6-4 and won the Mother Lode League undefeated. Foothill is 7-3 overall and came in third in the Pioneer Valley League with a 3-2 league record.

Sonora High School earned a bye for the first playoff game.

Calaveras High, meanwhile, strolled into the second round in Division VI with a 44-7 win over Highlands in San Andreas Friday night.

Calaveras, 7-4, will meet Escalon, 8-2, in the second round Friday. The location has not been announced.

Calaveras played Escalon in August in the first game of the season. Escalon won 21-7.
