Calaveras needed a win Friday night after dropping their first two games of the season and scoring just 7 points between the two matchups.

Friday’s game was a tight one with both teams scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. Ripon added more points for a 24-14 halftime score.

Calaveras had an answer in the third, scoring a touchdown to make it a one-score game at 24-21.

But that would be the final scoring of the game as Calaveras dropped to 0-3 on the season.

Next up for the team is a home game against Bradshaw Christian. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.
