School’s (almost) out for Mother Lode students and that means local sports camps are open for registration.

Columbia College will host their annual Claim Jumper youth sport summer camp for boys and girls grades 3-8.

The sessions get underway June 18-21 with a boys and girls volleyball camp.

Columbia’s men’s basketball and women’s volleyball coach Rob Hoyt will host, and he’ll have plenty of help from staff and athletes from both Jumpers teams.

The cost is $100 and includes a t-shirt.

This year’s basketball camp will run for two sessions, June 25-28 and July 16-19.

Each session is $100 and also include a t-shirt.

Athletes will learn playing skills in group and individual settings and have the chance to use them in a real-game environment.

All sessions run from 9 a.m. until noon and are held at Columbia College Oak Pavilion. Parking is available near the Pavilion for $2, which is payable at self-serve ticket machines.

Longtime basketball coach Rick Francis will host his annual shooting camp June 11-14.

The camp will focus on the fundamentals of shooting and will be also be held at the Columbia College Oak Pavilion.

The camp is open to boys and girls grades 6-12. The cost is $100 and includes a t-shirt.
