Columbia College is hosting their annual boys basketball tournament. Eight high school teams are in action, including Summerville and Sonora.

Final round

The Sonora High School boys varsity basketball team stormed through the eight-team bracket at the annual Columbia College Holiday Classic.

They won the championship game Friday against Stagg, 67-57.

Jace Decker again led the offense with 16 points.

Austin Patterson added 14 points and the team had five three-pointers on the game.

Round 2

Summerville took home the win in second round play against Sierra Ridge, 49-21.

Jiovani Amayawood again led the Bears' scoring with nine. Chance Norton added six.

Sonora also won, beating Golden Valley, 71-48.

Jace Decker led the way offensively with 25 points. Austin Patterson followed up his strong first round play with 14 points.

The win gives the Wildcats the chance to play in the championship game Friday at 6:30 p.m.

They'll take on Stagg at Oak Pavilion on the Columbia College campus.

Round 1

The Wildcats won their first round game against Escalon, 77-46.

Austin Patterson led the way on offense with 21 points. Jace Decker had 19. Trey Hawkins had nine and Jacob Storm added eight.

The team had seven three-pointers on the game.

The Summerville Bears dropped their first round game to Stagg, 47-38.

Jiovani Amayawood was the leading scorer for the Bears with 13. Chance Norton had eight and Luke Fulkerson added seven.

The tournament continues Thursday and Friday at Oak Pavilion on the Columbia College campus.
