The Columbia College Claim Jumpers hosted their annual Classic Tournament .

The Jumpers won twice.

They defeated Folsom Lake College Friday, 72-66.

The game’s leading scorers were Marquell Hubbard with 26 and Yosnier Cobes who had 23.

On Saturday, Columbia beat Lassen College 72-52

That game’s leading scorers were Marquell Hubbard who had 24, Maurice Woods with 13 and Yosnier Cobes who added 12.

Next up for Columbia is the Santa Barbara Tournament, Dec. 7-9.

Their next home game is Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. when they take on Fresno City College.


The Summerville Bears junior varsity girls basketball team fell to a tough Pitman team 57-34 Thursday.

The leading scorers were MacKenzie Skinner with 10 points, Amarys Machado with nine points and Vanessa Anderson added eight points.

Hailey Norton led the team with 12 rebounds. Machado had six rebounds.

In Friday play, the Bears cruised past Downey 55-24.

Skinner led the offense with 14 points while Vanessa Anderson added 12 points.

Mikaila Kronhome was strong on both ends of the court with nine points and eight rebounds.

Machado had six assists and nine rebounds.

Makila Leveroos had six points in the win.

The team next plays at Johansen tonight at 5:30 p.m.

The Bears varsity girls team beat Downey Friday night 53-18. They’re now 1-1 overall. They’ll next play at Johansen High School at 7 p.m. tonight. They return home for a game Wednesday night against Sierra High School. The game begins at 7 p.m.


The Sonora boys varsity team is at home tonight . They’ll play Pitman at 7:15 p.m. in Bud Castle Gym.

The girls are on the road throughout December. They play at Ceres tonight at 7:30 p.m.


The Calaveras High School varsity girls team is coming off a 49-47 win over River City Friday night. They’ll take on Colfax tonight at 7 p.m. before returning to San Andreas for a home game against Dixon at 7 p.m.

The Calaveras boys varsity team improved to 3-0 with a 72-47 win over Ripon Christian Friday night. They are at home tonight for a 7:30 p.m. game against Escalon.

The Bret Harte varsity girls team lost a close one to Amador Friday night, falling 49-47 in Escalon Tournament action. They’re now 1-2 on the season.

The ‘Frogs play Ripon Christian tonight at 7:30 p.m. Their next home game is Tuesday, Dec. 12 against Escalon at 7:30 p.m.

The boys varsity team improved their overall record to 3-1 with a 66-43 win over Big Valley Christian Friday night.

Bret Harte next hosts their own tournament. Games begin Thursday and continue through Saturday. Bret Harte will first play Wallenberg Thursday at 4:15 p.m. in the upper gym.
