UPDATE: Sonora beats Los Gatos 3 sets to 1. Full coverage coming tomorrow.

A bracket full of road games hasn’t slowed down the Sonora High School girls volleyball team.

They’re playing for a state division title in the 2017 CIF State Girls Volleyball Division III Championship — and they’re winning.

Saturday night the No. 11 seeded Wildcats took on the No. 3 Yosemite Badgers in Oakhurst.

They won in four sets, 25-12, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22.

They were coming off another decisive away win against the No. 6 ranked Head-Royce, who also happened to be the state division title holder from last year.

In weekend play, the seniors once again stepped up for head coach Amy Wahlbrink.

Riley Patterson had 31 digs and 18 kills. Molly O’Reilly contributed nine kills, six digs and seven total blocks.

Sarah Rosasco added eight kills and nine total blocks.

Junior Bella Patterson had seven kills and 20 digs.

Also leading the team on defense was junior Emma Collett.

She had 34 digs on the night

On offense, senior Maddie Fong had a productive night at the service line with seven aces.

The Wildcats remain on the road for their next match.

They’ll meet No. 2 ranking Los Gatos, also the Wildcats.

Los Gatos has defeated the No. 10 and No. 13 seeds.

The teams will meet tonight at Los Gatos High School in Los Gatos. The game starts at 7 p.m.

The winner moves on to the regional finals.
