California Highway Patrol Officer Trevor Fee rides Sampson, an 11 year old gelding, chestnut Belgian draft horse. Sampson is the second largest horse in the California Highway Patrol Mounted Patrol Unit standing 18 hands tall and weighing close to 2000 pounds. Sampson has been with the CHP for seven years and was acquired from a family farm in southern California.
