Presidential irony

To the Editor:

USA Today, Philadelphia Inquirer, Detroit Free Press, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Denver Free Press, Washington Times, Orlando Sentinel, San Antonio Express News, Anchorage Daily News, Manchester Union Leader, Economist and Weekly Standard, Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune, Lars-Erik Nelson of the New York Daily News: In the latter half of 1998, they all called for President Clinton to resign for lying about his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

A bit ironic that none of them, that I’m aware of, has called for our current oval office resident, who lies multiple times daily (including about his affairs!) to resign. Why would that be?

Clinton’s transgressions obviously pale in comparison to the Lyin King’s dizzying and persistent onslaught of scandal, corruption and self-serving incompetence on multiple fronts. Not to mention shutting down the government for his border wall (the stated purpose of which is demonstrably ineffectual).

What are they afraid of? Being labeled “fake news”?
