Vesta Rose Deiss, born in Salinas in 1927, was one of the kindest, most gentle and selfless women to grace the earth. She lived a long, happy life alongside her husband of 72 years, Don Deiss. After marrying her beloved husband and raising her family in Salinas, she moved to Sonora in 1988.

Vesta adored the color blue and spending time in nature amongst the flowers. She greatly enjoyed traveling and seeing all the beauty that the wilderness has to offer. She counted Yosemite and Joshua Tree among her favorite places to visit. She truly embodied the spirit of hearth and home.

Vesta passed peacefully with her family by her side. She leaves behind her husband; her two daughters, Kathy Reins and Donna Deiss; her granddaughter, Kalissa Reins; her brother, Eddie Van Cleave; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ben and Jules Saccone.
