Former Tuolumne County resident, William (Bill) Andrews, passed away at his residence in Los Angeles.

William was born to Don and Virginia Andrews on Oct. 20,1958, in Anchorage Alaska. He moved to Monterey as a child and then to Tuolumne County where he attended and graduated from Sonora Union High School in 1976. After graduation, he attended the University of Washington, where he earned bachelor degrees in both English and political economics. William then continued his education, attending the University of California, Hastings College of Law and earned his Juris Doctor degree. He practiced law in both San Francisco and Los Angeles.

William was an avid horseman in his youth and a lover of all animals, especially dogs. His passions were art, reading, architecture, diving, traveling and the English language, where he was known for his grammatical precision. William had a unique love and perspective for the Los Angeles area and enjoyed taking photographs and sharing with friends and family.

William is preceded in death by his father, Don Andrews. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Andrews; his brother, Steven Andrews; and his sister and brother-in-law Mary and Troy Hammerbeck, all of Jamestown; as well as his nephews Adam Hammerbeck of San Marcos, Texas, Seth Hammerbeck of Jamestown and Cadence Allen Andrews of Odenton, Maryland.
