Our beautiful brown eyed girl was born in Sonora. Johnie attended Columbia Elementary and graduated from Sonora High. A talented musician, she played trumpet in the Golden Regiment Band and was on the swim team. She was a photographer for A.deCosmos Photo Studio, Columbia, and waitressed, at the Columbia House and later worked at Mike’s Pizza of Angels Camp.

At the time of her death she was a U.S.P.S mail carrier, a job she loved. A millennial woman; she loved to cook, was a voracious reader and an avid outdoors woman, who liked to tell of learning to skin a coyote.

With her huge heart, Johnie made friends easily. Sharp, sarcastic and funny as hell, her snorting laugh and beautiful smile lit up the room.

Johnie left behind her beloved husband and two beautiful children; the lights of her life. Johnie is also survived by her parents, sisters and their families, her mother-in-law, loving aunts and uncles, and numerous friends.

You left us too soon, suddenly and tragically. Each passing year, the hole in our hearts only grows. We know you are in Heaven with Grammie and Poppie, but.. wish you were here with us.

You would have been 30y, June 13. We’d be teasing you about getting old and then reminding you that you will always be the baby. Babies are the best! Instead we spent the day in grief and sorrow. Not a day passes that we do not miss you…

Our “Johnie - Nickels”, “Monkey”, “Baby Girl”, “Mommy”.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,

Love leaves a memory no one can steal. “
