Ken Button, resident of Sonora, died at home on April 4, 2019.

Ken is survived by his wife of 27 years Denise Button; his brother John Button; and his sister Susan Button Dickinson (Jim); sisters-in-law Sister Carolyn Marie Monahan and Amelia Monahan; along with his nephews and niece and a large extended family.

Ken was also blessed to have many new and dear old friends. In his early life he experienced many moves. Born in Fort Bragg, California, he then moved to Oakland, San Lorenzo, Livermore and Sacramento.

Ken worked for Payless Drug Store/Rite Aid and over those years, moved to various cities. Finally in 1992 Ken and Denise moved to Sonora, where he found his “forever home.” While there he continued his career in retail and then moved to a position of community service with Tuolumne County Social Services as an eligibility worker. This position allowed him the opportunity to serve the needs of his community, which brought him great joy.

Ken enjoyed the outdoors, annual family camping trips, home improvement projects, cruising with his “travel buddies,” entertaining and cooking. He impacted many people of all ages with his friendliness, sense of humor, and care.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the Sonora Opera Hall.
