Cleveland Joseph Dupuy was born on Nov. 16, 1934, in Brusly, Louisiana, to the late Cleveland and Linda (Loupe) Dupuy. Cleveland was a graduate of Brusly High School in 1953. He then attended Baton Rouge Vocational Tech and Delgado Art Academy in New Orleans, Louisiana. Cleveland resided in the communities of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Los Angeles prior to moving to Sonora.

Cleveland was a clerk at Merrill Lynch as well as a civil engineer/draftsman. He retired in 1994. Cleveland’s career history included office clerk, purchase/sales clerk and was also self-employed, buying and selling collectables. Among his special interests, Cleveland enjoyed craftwork, gardening, classical music and painting.

Cleveland is survived by his nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and life partner, Marcel Montufar.
