Gary Dale Walter, 71, passed away peacefully, due to extended illness, on Jan. 9, 2019, surrounded by his family filled with love and gratitude.
Gary was born on Feb. 26, 1947, in Turlock. His parents, Verne and Mary Walter, raised him as he worked in his family's camera store. As motivated as he could be, Gary went to continue his education at Brooks Institute of Photography. Gary eventually married the love of his life, Cheryl Walter. Gary and Cheryl decided to move to Sonora to develop and start their own successful camera business. When the lovely couple were ready for a change, they bravely decided to move to Moab, Utah, and create the Moab Valley RV Resort and Campground. Gary and Cheryl continued to live in Moab and began retirement while keeping busy and being involved in real estate.
Gary is survived by his spouse, Cheryl Walter; son, Shon (Rossana); grandchildren, Carlos and Isabella; brother, Verne L. (Ruth); nephew and niece, Verne G. and Charlotte.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Verne A. and Mary Walter; and his sister, Rosemary Walter.
