Violet Jean Cragholm passed away on Jan. 29 at her home in Sonora. Violet was born Dec. 15, 1933, in Oakland.
She loved rodeos, PBR, traveling, doing puzzles, gambling, gardening, had a great love of animals, and she loved her grandbabies. She worked at United Can Company and Black Oak Casino.

Violet is survived by her children, Joyce Smith, of Lathrop, and Karen Repko (Matthew), of Sonora; seven grandchildren, Sandee Tayco (Dana), Kelly Smith, Jason Smith (Jenny), Amber Cragholm (Ryan), Alicia Cragholm, Danielle McKee (Greg), Brittany Dickinson (Jeremy); 18 great-grandchildren, Danielle Arreola (Miguel), Madison, Kelsey, Ashley, Taylor, Tanner, Nicholas, Jordain, Tyler, Ryan, Michael, Kayleigh, Emma, Mason, Cheyenne, Hannah, Raymond, and Michelle; and one great-great-grandchild, Aiden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cragholm; sons, Glen Cragholm and Billy Cragholm; son-in-law, Steve Smith; four siblings, Betty Richards, Robert Bonetti, Hank Bonetti and Barbara Uhl; father, Hank Bonetti Sr.; mother, Rose Costa-Bonetti; and Richard Renfroe.

Services for Violet will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Feb. 17 at Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse Grounds, 19130 Rawhide Road, Jamestown.
