Beth Louise Hicks, of Arnold, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Stanford Hospital on Jan. 20, 2018, after a courageous fight with breast cancer. She was 57.
Beth was born in San Francisco on March 8, 1960. She graduated from St. Finn Barr Catholic School, St. John Ursuline High School in 1978, and went on to earn a degree from San Francisco City College. She worked as a licensed vocational nurse for 37 years, starting her career at San Francisco General Hospital. After moving to Arnold, she worked for Tuolumne General Hospital for 14 years and ended her career at Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown. Beth was known for her big heart, her love for her family, and she made a lasting impression on everyone that she met. She was always fun, smart, vocal, colorful, funny and brash — she had the mouth of a sailor and a heart of gold.
Beth is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Dave Hicks. They were married in San Francisco on April 19, 2000.
Beth is lovingly remembered by her sons, Ronnie Nicholas, Ryan Perieff, Richard Perieff and Henry Hicks; her grandchildren, Roxanne Nicholas, Rannon Nicholas, Hadrian Perieff and Lucian Perieff; her siblings, Carmel Adams, Kathleen Wurdinger, Shawn Bulen; and nieces and nephews, John, Marc, Matthew, Rebecca, Jennifer, Marianne, Elizabeth, Joey, Michael and David.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Anne Bulen; father, John Bulen; and sister, Nanette Armenta.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 10 at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Angels Camp with reception to follow.
