Sue Ellen Walls-Southwick, 62, of Sonora, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, in Hughson. Sue Ellen was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and was a former Atwater resident before becoming a resident of Sonora. She attended Atwater High School before moving on to graduate from Culver Military Academy in Indiana.
While a Sonora resident, Sue worked at Sonora High School, Dario Cassina High School and Theodore Bird High School before retiring in 2010. She enjoyed spending time with her family, painting, photography, dancing, gardening and cooking. The ocean was one of her favorite places to be. Sue was a devoted and loving mother, wife and friend, and she will be missed immensely.
Sue Ellen is survived by her loving triplets, Christopher Matthew Southwick, Hannah Lee Southwick and Douglas James Southwick; and her loving husband, Walter Southwick.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Walls; mother, Joy Walls; and brother, Douglas Walls.
A celebration of her life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Willow Springs Clubhouse, 20522 Willow Springs Drive, Soulsbyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Center for a Nonviolent Community of Sonora, any animal shelter, or Boots for Troops online.
