Michael Polen passed away Nov. 19, 2017, at his home in Oakdale, California.

Michael was born Nov. 30, 1963, in Anaheim, to Darwin and Beth Polen. He lived in Southern California for many years before moving to Twain Harte in 1989 to join the rest of his family. His first job in the area was working with his father at MRL Industries. After MRL he found work as a tow truck driver for both Vic's and Ahearn's in Sonora. In early 2000 he moved to Oakdale, where he would remain for the next 18 years. During this time in Oakdale, he worked for West Coast Materials for 10 years and then to his last job of eight years at OSH in Tracy as a hostler. It was in Oakdale where he would find and build his extended family of friends. With his larger-than-life personality and willingness to help others, he was always adding friends.

Michael's hobbies included rebuilding or upgrading almost any vehicle he could; taking his Jeeps on 4WD trails like the Rubicon and Slick Rock, and camping. He was always helping friends and family with their own projects before finishing his own.

Michael is survived by his mother, Beth Polen, of Sonora; and his brother, Charles Polen (Tori), of Twain Harte.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 9, 2017, at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 W. F St. Oakdale, CA 95361. A celebration of life to immediately follow (noon) at the Oakdale Senior Center, 450 E. A St., Oakdale, CA 95361.
