Alton "Ike" Lowell Callahan, 90, of Carson Hill died on Oct. 6, 2017, at his home with his grandson Travis by his side. Ike was born in Angels Camp and resided most of his life in Carson Hill. Mr. Callahan was married to his late wife, Jacquelyn Lee Callahan for 41 years before her passing in 1997. He was retired from the Calaveras Cement Plant. Ike or "Ikey" as some know him, loved gardening, fishing and was an excellent cook known for his delicious soups and "spaghetti sauce." He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1947. Ike loved big band music and played in a band in his earlier years. He enjoyed his cigars and wine and loved watching sports.

He leaves behind his two daughters, Laurie Ziehlke, of Vallecito, and Patricia Noah, of Tracy. He was father-in-law to Steve Ziehlke, of Vallecito, and James Noah, of Tracy. He was a loving grandfather (Pop) to Sean and Angie (Croshaw) Ziehlke, of Murphys, Travis Ziehlke, of Carson Hill, Stassie and Casey Weathers, of Sacramento, and Jensen Noah, of Tracy. He even got to meet his great granddaughter Emilia Ziehlke, of Murphys. Friends are invited to attend graveside services on Oct. 27, 2017, at 2 p.m., at the Mountain Shadow Cemetery on Lyons Bald Mountain Drive in Sonora.

Memorial donations can be made in his name to the Bret Harte High School sports or music programs.
