Jim Glosick passed away on Sept. 7, 2017, of natural causes in Jamestown, California.

Jim was born in Bath, New York, on Sept. 1, 1944, to Lewis and Bertha (Roy) Glosick. Jim’s father, know locally in Bath, New York as Louie, was the owner of Glosick & Shear Oldsmobile. Jim’s father was an avid hunter, fisherman and airplane enthusiast and passed these interests on to Jim. Jim attended elementary school in Bath, Cardinal Farley Military School in Rhinecliff, New York, and Marquette University in Wisconsin, graduating with a degree in electrical engineering. He joined the Air Force after graduation, serving three to four years.

Jim relocated to Southern California after his discharge from the Air Force and began a long career with the State of California Employment Development Department. In 1981, he relocated to the Sonora/Jamestown area of Northern California. After retiring, Jim continued one of his favorite pastimes of attending air shows around California and Reno Nevada.

Jim never met a stranger. He was a friend to everyone he met and was a most likable man. Jim is survived by several relatives in the New York area.
