Johnny G. Kisling was born in Fresno on Nov. 16, 1930 to Milly Weber and George Kisling. John served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1953, serving most of his four-year tour in North Africa, mainly Morocco, with military intelligence. John moved to Tuolumne County in 1968 and entered the grocery industry, retiring as a store manager with Save Mart Supermarkets.

He loved to travel the world, and his most exciting trips include five cruises that took him to Alaska, Italy and Central America. His favorite destination remained the Pacific Coast of California, where he enjoyed the cooler temperatures in the warm summer months. John picked up stained glass window making as a hobby, making many wonderful gifts for family and friends. John was an avid golfer, bowler and gardener and a member of SIRS.
