A team of Tuolumne County Sheriff's deputies and officers from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Thursday were inspecting businesses that sell alcohol to check for compliance with state and local laws.
Deputy Niccoli Sandelin said the team is known as IMPACT and the effort is paid for through an $8,200 grant.
"IMPACT teams select and survey licensed outlets at random," he said. "During the visits, the teams remind licensees of their responsibilities and accountability associated with the sale of alcohol."
If they find violations the businesses will be cited, he said.
The effort was initiated to cut down in the number of alcohol-related crashes.
