A Valley Springs resident has been diagnosed with coronavirus, the third case in Calaveras County
The Valley Springs resident is receiving care outside the county, according to a news release issued by Calaveras Public Health, which was notified Wednesday of the new case.
"Immediately after being notified, Calaveras Public Health launched a case investigation. Public Health staff are identifying persons who may have had close personal contact with this individual, including any friends, family members or healthcare professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 illness. Close personal contacts identified during this investigation will be under quarantine," the release said.
“It is expected that further cases of COVID-19 infection will be identified in Calaveras residents,” said Dr. Dean Kelaita, Calaveras County health officer.
