Jamestown fire

A recreational vehicle was destroyed by fire in Jamestown Wednesday night.

A man and his dog escaped without injury. Neighbors reported hearing popping sounds as the fire took hold and speculated ammunition inside the RV was exploding. 

Firefighters brought the blaze under control within 45 minutes after the fire was reported at 7:30 p.m. The home was located on Ninth Avenue. The fire extended to about .11 of an acre of grass.

Responding were seven overhead personnel, one water tender, six engines from Tuolumne County Fire, Tuolumne County Sheriff, PG&E and Cal Fire.
