A black Ford F-150 pickup truck crashed into a garage Friday in the Shaws Flat area and the driver ran away, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson said.
The crash happened about 1:30 p.m. Friday in the 10400 block of Mountain Brow Road, off Highway 49 between Columbia and Tuttletown, CHP Sonora Officer Steve Machado said in a phone interview.
The driver immediately got out of the pickup and ran, Machado said. The 1999 Ford was severely damaged. The garage was still standing. No other vehicles were struck and there were no other people involved in the crash, Machado said.
“We have no idea who it is,” Machado said at 3 p.m. “We’re still investigating.”
The black Ford F-150 had not been reported stolen, Machado said.
Machado said he had no description of the driver who ran from the crash. A CHP traffic incident information page stated the person who ran from the crash was a white man with no shirt, a bloody face, blonde hair, and he appeared to be about 6 feet tall and in his 40s.
