Wilco, a farmer-owned cooperative based in Oregon, is planning to open a new farm-supply store in the vacant space left by Orchard Supply Hardware in the Sonora Plaza Shopping Center on Mono Way.

The city’s Community Development Department is reviewing plans for interior improvements to the building that were submitted by HMR Architects on behalf of Wilco.

Rachelle Kellogg, community development director, said the plans are for the store to move into the entire 58,000-square-foot space that has remained vacant since the shuttering of Orchard Supply more than a year ago.

Alex MacLean will have more about this development in Thursday's Union Democrat.
