The Sonora Police Department is seeking to identify a man who is believed to have keyed a woman’s car, saying something related to “call the cops” after an argument in the parking lot of the Crossroads Shopping Center in Sonora.
Sonora Police Officer Scott Mallon said the case was considered a felony vandalism investigation because the damages exceeded $450.
Mallon said sometime mid-afternoon on Sunday, the person was involved in an argument with a woman in the parking lot because she almost hit him with her car. They briefly argued and she said something about contacting the police.
After she went into a business, she returned to her car to find the vandalism.
The Sonora Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the man. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at (209) 532-8141
