Danny Anderson

Attorneys for Danny Anderson, a Sonora-area doctor who’s currently serving time in prison for his role in an October 2016 vehicle crash that killed three people in La Grange, are seeking to have him released before he becomes eligible for parole in August due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

Anderson has been incarcerated since April last year at the California Institution for Men in Chino, where it was announced on Sunday that an inmate had died due to complications from the virus.

The prison is the first in the state to report the death of an inmate from the virus and has the highest number of total cases among the state’s 35 prisons, with a total of 60 inmates and 22 employees who had tested positive as of Sunday.
