Appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations at CVS stores in Sonora and Angels Camp quickly filled up Thursday after becoming available earlier that morning.
The CVS website listed both the Sonora and Angels Camp stores as “fully booked” for scheduling COVID-19 vaccination appointments Thursday evening, though it advised people to check on Friday as new appointments are added daily.
CVS announced Thursday morning that the stores in Sonora and Angels Camp were among those in California that would begin administering the vaccines on Friday.
Appointments are currently only available to people in eligible priority groups, which includes health care workers and people 65 and olders.
“CVS Health is partnering with several local state and federal programs to help administer the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible populations,” the website stated. “Appointments will be available as we receive vaccines from these programs.”
First and second doses of the vaccine are available at no cost with insurance or through a federal program for the uninsured.
People in eligible groups can book appointments through CVS via the company’s website at https://www.cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine.
