The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY
6:11 a.m., trespass/loiter — A man wandered around a Stockton Road property.

8:33 a.m., trespass/loiter — A person at a South Barretta Street school said a 25-year-old man waited on the steps of the Sonora Dome for a juvenile girl between 1:55 p.m. a 2 p.m.

10:24 a.m., theft — A juvenile stole candy from a Stockton Road store and met up with two other men on South Washington Street.

1:01 p.m., threats — An Old Wards Ferry Road business received a scam email bomb threat asking for money, and an officer determined that there was no immediate threat.

9:42 p.m., theft — A man stole a tip jar from an Old Wards Ferry Road coffee shop, and when he returned to the business he didn’t remember doing it and also slurred his words.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

10:07 a.m., Sonora — A young man walked on the train tracks on Lime Kiln Road.

10:54 a.m., Sonora — A Wildcat Ridge Road resident was scammed by someone on Craigslist over firewood.

12:00 p.m., Tuolumne — A person on Carter Street received an email from someone demanding $20,000 in bitcoins.

2:37 p.m., Columbia — A woman said someone went onto her neighbor’s Springfield Road property, mined gold and then sold it. A dispatcher counseled the woman that the owner of the property would need to report the theft, but the woman said she received legal advice to report it to a deputy.

5:31 p.m., Sonora — A man who “appeared to be high” passed out in front of a Mono Way store with a hamburger in his hand.

9:28 p.m., Soulsbyville — A Willow Springs Drive resident said a “bunch of punks” were squirting things at her through the floorboards of her attic and under her house. The woman believed they “worked for her husband,” who she was divorcing.

9:14 a.m., Valley Springs — A Thornicroft resident believed cats were being taken from a neighborhood.

10:17 a.m., Valley Springs — Security cameras were stolen from a Pine Street property.

1:58 p.m., Valley Springs — Someone on Buena Vista Street called 911 three times in a row and hung up.
