The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY
11:16 a.m., animal complaints — A dog was left inside a vehicle on South Washington Street with the windows slightly cracked.

1:33 p.m., parking citation — A vehicle on South Stewart Street was issued a ticket for backing into a stall.

5:05 p.m., pedestrian/vehicle checks — A man slept behind a garbage bin at a South Norlin Street building.

9:47 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Someone drove on Elk Drive without tail lights on, but with working headlights.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

1:53 a.m., Sonora — Someone on Lower Hillview Drive heard a gunshot.

9:14 a.m., Jamestown — A woman on La Grange Road was concerned a group of people were casing her residence because three vehicles with multiple people and five dogs were pulled over on the side of the road and said they were on the way to a graduation.

12:05 p.m., Big Oak Flat — A tree fell across Black Oak Road and residents were unable to get back out.

4:04 p.m., Groveland — A Hemlock Street resident asked for advice about being kicked out by the landlord.

7:00 p.m., Sonora — A woman on American River Drive saw people outside of her house rolling joints.


WEDNESDAY

7:11 a.m., Columbia — A Valley Quail Road resident’s dog was killed by her neighbor’s dog.

10:28 a.m., Sonora — A person on Gibbs Drive thought their car was stolen but found it while they were calling 911.

11:57 a.m., Sonora — A Stable Road resident saw a bear multiple times over the past months and believed it was becoming more aggressive.

1:13 p.m., Strawberry — Two men sold meat out of a truck on Robin Lane.

2:17 p.m., Sonora — A rental car business on Mono Way found marijuana in one of their rental cars.

10:59 p.m., Sonora — A woman on Mono Way said there was no fight at her residence, but she was upset because another woman had taken her blanket out of the dryer.

4:40 p.m., Sonora — Joe Louis Mendiola, 37, of the 18200 block of Mono Way, was booked on suspicion of threatening crime with the intent to terrorize and misdemeanor charges assault and vandalism with property damage following an arrest on the 900 block of Morning Star Drive.


WEDNESDAY

2:50 a.m., Sonora — Bryanna Joy Ireland, 24, of Tuolumne, was booked on suspicion of first degree burglary following an arrest on the 300 block of North Washington Street.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

1:45 a.m., Valley Springs — A driver attempted to enter a South Petersburg Road campground after hours to pick up forgotten items.

3:15 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A 5th wheel was stolen from Old Gulch Road.

8:23 p.m., San Andreas — A man stole an 18-pack of beer from an East Saint Charles Street business without paying for it.

9:48 p.m., San Andreas — A woman pulling a suitcase walked up East Saint Charles Street and was assisted in finding a place to stay.

11:45 a.m., Copperopolis — Kimberly Coral Marie Malloy, 55, of the 100 block of Black Creek Road, was booked following an arrest on Bayview Drive.

10:57 a.m., Copperopolis — Debra Lee Banks, 55, of the 4800 block of Bay View Drive, was booked on suspicion of kidnapping following an arrest on the 4800 block of Bay View Drive.

12:50 p.m., West Point — Charles Edward Wilson Jr., 71, of the 500 block of Bald Mountain Road, was booked on suspicion of possession of a firearm while a convicted felon, possession of ammunition while prohibited possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a firearm by an addict and misdemeanor charges possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia following an arrest at his home.

12:50 p.m., West Point — Anthony Edward Kesler, 41, of the 500 block of Bald Mountain Road, was booked on suspicion of possession of a firearm while a convicted felon, possession of ammunition while prohibited, and violation of the terms of his post-release community supervision following an arrest at his home.
