The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


12:37 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A transient man wearing a scarf pressed himself against the door of a business on Mono Way.

2:03 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man locked himself in a bathroom for an hour at a Sanguinetti Road business.

11:09 a.m., burglary — A locker container was broken into and products were stolen from a business on Mono Way.

1:32 p.m., hazardous situation — A 3-year-old child was left unattended near the road at a business on South Washington.

2:40 p.m., theft — Someone attempted to steal a bottle of alcohol from a business on Mono Way.

3:19 p.m., threats — Someone threatened staff at a hospital on Greenley Road.

6:53 p.m., lost, found property — A box full of clothes and books was found in the road on Fairview Lane.

9:09 p.m., trespass/loiter — Transients who were previously trespassed were back and sitting on benches in front of a business on Sanguinetti Road.

10:32 p.m., lost, found property — A wallet with ID card and no credit cards or cash was found in front of a business on South Washington Street.

2:54 a.m., Sonora area — Several people walked through the drive-through of a business on Mono Way.

6:23 a.m., Strawberry — A driver in a white Dodge pickup drove around and went in numerous driveways on Georges Drive.

11:04 a.m., Jamestown — Three four-wheel-drive trucks were in a field behind a home on Shady Dawn Lane.

11:33 a.m., Sonora area — A woman stole items from her aunt’s garage and ran extension cords and hoses from her aunt's house to hers.

12:32 p.m., Strawberry — A burglary occurred at a home on Georges Drive.

12:38 p.m., Strawberry — A burglary with forced entry occurred on Georges Drive.

1:18 p.m., Strawberry — A burglary occurred at a home on Georges Drive.

2:23 p.m., Groveland — A minor was contacted on Facebook by a stranger who asked her to send nude pictures of herself to him. He said if she didn’t, he would get nude photos off the Internet and send them to her family saying they were her.

2:37 p.m., Twain Harte — A man at a business on Tiffeni Drive threatened to shoot everyone at a bank in Copperopolis if they didn’t close out his parents’ bank account.

3:05 p.m., Tuolumne — A drivers license and Social Security card were believed to be stolen from a woman on Tuolumne Road.

3:16 p.m., Long Barn — A security camera was disabled on Ellmaro Drive West.

3:50 p.m., La Grange — Storage containers were burglarized at a church on Abeto Street.

3:59 p.m., Columbia — A blue Prius with no one in it was parked behind a storage shed on Kennebec Lane and rustling noises were coming from behind the shed.

4:52 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on Half Mile Road said her credit card was used fraudulently and gift cards were sent to her unrequested.

8:12 p.m., Sonora — A black cow was on someone’s property on Mono Way.

8:40 p.m., Jamestown — Suspicious people were going through commercial trash bins and vehicles on Preston Lane.

8:40 p.m., Jamestown — Someone possibly saw someone in a tree and someone tied up near a business on Highway 108.

8:53 p.m., Twain Harte — A vehicle was parked in front of a residence for over and hour on Middle Camp/Sugarpine Road with its flashers, on and people were wearing headlamps and walking around as if looking for something.

9:14 p.m., Sonora — A woman on Wards Ferry Road said her roommate laced her soup with LSD the day before and she is still “tripping.”

10:21 p.m., Columbia — A woman on Green Street said her neighbor is in and out of her shed all hours of the night and day.

4:06 p.m., Chinese Camp — Joseph John Canepa, 54, of the 14000 block of Twist Road, was booked after an arrest on Highway 49 at Main Street.
