The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

7:32 a.m., Fraudulent activities — A customer wrote a fictitious check to a business on South Washington street.

8:37 a.m., trespass/loiter — A person was camping under a bar on South Washington Street.

10:09 a.m. unclassified — Unauthorized charges were made on a credit card at a South Washington Street over the Labor Day weekend.

10:29 a.m., animal complaints — A long haired dark colored lab was running loose on South Washington Street.

11:56 a.m., trespass/loiter — A group of transients were camping near railroad tracks at Old Wards Ferry and Sanguinetti roads.

4:38 p.m., threats — A person was leaving his work and someone leaned out their vehicle window and threatened to shoot him.

6:04 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man without a shirt on was scratching his stomach with a knife.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

1:03 a.m., Groveland — Someone on Merrell Road heard a woman screaming “help me.”

4:41 a.m., Sonora — People on Tuolumne Road loaded trucks before 6 a.m.

6:47 a.m., Sonora — A woman said her purse called 911 on Green Street.

8:32 a.m., Sonora — A vehicle had been in a Standard Road parking lot for a year.

9:07 a.m., Jamestown — Someone on Peppermint Circle reported a debit card was used without permission.

10:25 a.m., Groveland — A large wooden bear was stolen from a car wash on Main Street.

2:26 p.m., Sonora — Someone on Joshua Way said they were watching a man walk down the street with their aluminum recycling bin.

3:29 p.m., Columbia — Someone on Columbia Village Drive reported a resident took a water nozzle off his hose and would not give it back.

3:41 p.m., Sonora — Two batteries were stolen from a service truck on Standard Road.

4:03 p.m., Sonora — A mailbox was damaged and the post split on Rough and Ready Trail.

4:04 p.m., Twain Harte — A vehicle was off the road on Highway 108.

5:07 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on Fifth Avenue said her neighbor’s chicken jumped into her yard and her dog chased it, then the neighbor threatened to kill the dog. The chicken was not injured.

8:14 p.m., Columbia — A man outside a restaurant on Parrotts Ferry Road said he was a ghost and planned to cause an earthquake.
