Tuolumne County District Attorney Laura Krieg thanked officials on behalf of her family for their fast actions that saved the life of her brother-in-law, Tony Krieg, who suffered a medical emergency during a public meeting on Wednesday.

Laura Krieg specifically acknowledged County Supervisor Anaiah Kirk, Assistant County Administrator Eric Erhardt, Recreation Supervisor Eric Aitken, and Board of Supervisors candidate Dameion Renault for quickly performing CPR while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

She added that doctors told the family they were amazed he survived.

“Our family is eternally grateful,” She said.

Tony Krieg is currently recovering in the hospital and spoke with Laura Krieg by phone at noon on Thursday.

Laura Krieg said she was also struck by the support she received from many different county employees while the scary ordeal was happening, despite being in the midst of tense budget deliberations.

“It’s hard when we’re all fighting for our departments, but at the end of the day we’re all family,” she said. “We’re a work family.”
