TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY
2:12 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person at a South Green Street park found what they thought was a human bone in the water, but it was determined to be from an animal.

3:00 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person saw a man walking on Stockton Road with a sleeping bag over his shoulder and they believed something was inside the sleeping bag.

4:41 p.m., theft — A group of people outside of a Sanguinetti Road store said they were selling a bag of clothes to a man, who fled with the clothes. The group followed the man and crashed their vehicle into a tree.

5:22 p.m., theft — A juvenile was detained for shoplifting at a South Washington Street grocery store and released to the parents.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

2:03 a.m., Tuolumne — A drunk man laid on the porch of a Fir Avenue church and yelled to himself.

7:16 a.m., Sonora — A “tweaker” carrying a guitar, a bag of clothes and a hatchet attempted to get into a home on Tuolumne Road.

3:55 p.m., Sonora — A person at a Wards Ferry Road mobile home park said pills she hid under her pillow were stolen.

5:24 p.m., Sonora — A person on Montgomery Road believed someone poured oil or fuel on their plant and deck.

10:06 p.m., Sonora — A Crystal Falls Drive West resident said a man was beating on her door and trying to get in, but she believed he was the tenant in a neighboring unit.


TUESDAY

7:45 a.m., Sonora — Someone stole $100 and a credit card from a Sylva Lane resident.

9:08 a.m., Twain Harte — A person on Sunset Drive said a tree was uprooting nearby and was in danger of falling into a house.

3:35 p.m., Jamestown — A man in an orange hat stole a cell phone from a person at a Highway 108 gas station, but then the man said he tracked it to a downtown Sonora lawyer’s office.

5:22 p.m., Twain Harte — A man on Mother Lode Drive said a neighbor took his dog to the pound to get back at him.

8:34 p.m., Sonora — A person on Via Este said they heard a loud explosion and then their lights dimmed.

9:20 p.m., Jamestown — Bernard Francis Clark, 70, of the 18200 block of Ninth Avenue, was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance following arrest on the 10500 block of Old Don Pedro Road.

11:59 a.m., Sonora — Elizabeth Ann Carlin, 33, of the 20400 block of North Sunshine Road, was booked on suspicion of bringing a controlled substance into jail and misdemeanor charges shoplifting following an arrest on the 600 block of South Washington Street.

5:59 p.m., Jamestown — Rylee Gage Sheffield, 21, of the 21200 block of American River Drive, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and threatening crime with an intent to terrorize following an arrest on the 17200 block of Margaret Drive.

8:24 p.m., Sonora — Kristoffer Linton Carpenter, 35, of the 300 block of Bonanza Road, was booked on suspicion of evading a peace officer with a wanton disregard for safety, driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence following an arrest on the 300 block of Calaveras Way.

1:14 a.m., San Andreas — A person with flashlights was seen near a storage container on Mountain Ranch Road.

7:51 a.m., Arnold — A person on Lakemont Drive heard an explosion and then their power went out.

11:50 a.m., West Point — A residence on Hidden Valley Road was broken into.

5:35 p.m., Valley Springs — A person on Heinemann Drive received a package that they did not order.

9:58 p.m., Arnold — A residential alarm sounded on Saint Moritz Drive.

3:22 p.m., San Andreas — Robert Patrick Jarrell, 29, of the 100 block of Gold Dust Drive, Valley Springs, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury and misdemeanor charges damaging a wireless device following an arrest on Saint Charles Street.
