The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

7:10 a.m., animal complaints — A dog was hit by a vehicle on Stockton Road and was later released to its owner.

9:01 a.m., theft — A person on North Forest Road said valuables and cash were stolen from a residence sometime after Christmas.

11:41 a.m., miscellaneous codes — Political flyers were collected from a downtown North Washington Street business owner and given to a community service officer.

1:23 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person on Mono Way said a man sat in his vehicle after becoming upset that his bank could not complete a transaction.

5:19 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man on South Washington Street yelled and appeared to be carrying firefighter boots.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

4:30 a.m., Jamestown — A person on Wigwam Road heard “Do it, do it,” then something smash, then a car leave the area.

11:58 a.m., Tuolumne — A person said they were given a date rape drug at a Bay Avenue bar on New Years Eve.

1:30 p.m., Sonora — A person who connected to the cell phone tower on Gibbs Road requested that downtown Sonora be closed due to flooding.

3:50 p.m., Sonora — A person at a county jail on Yaney Avenue said he wanted to report his daughter missing.

10:42 p.m., Columbia — A person on Sawmill Flat Road was soaked with water and pointed over the side of a bank to passing vehicles.

5:03 a.m., Jamestown — Joseph Richard Garcia, 45, of the 10700 block of Wigwam Road, was booked on suspicion of burglary and misdemeanor charges battery following an arrest on the 10700 block of Wigwam Road.

5:03 a.m., Jamestown — John Salvador Hidalgo, 54, of the 16700 block of Wigwam Road, was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor charges possession of a controlled substance following an arrest on the 10700 block of Wigwam Road.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

1:17 a.m., Valley Springs — A residence on Dunn Road was broken into.

6:49 a.m., Valley Springs — A commercial alarm sounded on Driver Road.

7:22 a.m., Valley Springs — Audio equipment was stolen from a church on Highway 12.

9:40 a.m., Copperopolis — Merchandise was stolen from a Spangler Lane property.

10:18 a.m., San Andreas — Locks were broken on storage units on West Saint Charles Street.
