The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY
2:28 a.m., trespass/loiter — A man pushed shopping carts around a Sanguinetti Road parking lot and didn’t stop when asked. When contacted by an officer, he said he was never asked to stop.
7:57 a.m., vandalism, property damage — Someone threw a rock through the window of a South Washington Street business.
12:33 p.m., theft — A blue denim purse was stolen from a shopping cart at a Sanguinetti Road business.
4:36 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A house on Brookside Place had a strong plastic and chemical smell emitting from a vent, but an officer did not notice a chemical smell.
10:47 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man walked into a South Washington Street hotel with bloody knuckles and said “I didn’t mean to do anything wrong to her.”


FRIDAY
9:02 a.m., lost, found property — A utility truck dropped a hydraulic jack out of the bed of his vehicle on South Stewart Street.

11:25 a.m., fraudulent activities — A person on Bourbon Street received a call from someone who attempted to defraud them.

1:19 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Two juveniles were seen running on Green Street after car alarms went off in a nearby parking garage.

5:16 p.m., traffic accidents — A silver Chevy Malibu and a gray Subaru were involved in an non-injury accident on East Lyons Street.


SATURDAY

12:12 a.m., warrants arrests — A person was arrested on a local misdemeanor warrant after he was seen outside of a Restano Way liquor store pouring a large jug of liquid out in the parking lot.

9:21 a.m., public intoxication — A person on Shaws Flat Road walked in the road and appeared to be under the influence.

12:41 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person on South Barretta Street was concerned that a car was parked in the area that had never been there before.

12:44 p.m., miscellaneous harassment — A person yelled and cussed someone after a parking incident on South Washington Street.

8:53 p.m., trespass/loiter — A woman may have defecated at a Stockton Road property after her car broke down at a gas station and she was forced to sleep in her car.

SUNDAY

2:20 a.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A resident on Oakside Drive refused to answer the door when an officer went to the home on a report of a party.

8:14 a.m., parking citation — A vehicle was issued a ticket for parking in an official vehicle parking space outside of a law enforcement building on Lower Sunset Drive.

12:31 p.m., burglary — A person at a Mono Way laundry business said someone came into the business and emptied a coin compartment from a washer.

8:55 p.m., theft — Title documents, social security cards and a W2 were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Mono Way.

9:05 p.m., assault — A man on South Washington Street said he had frostbite on his feet and legs and was hit in the head by someone the night before.

6:42 a.m., Groveland — A transformer blew and sparked after a tree fell onto power lines on Sunnyside Way.

12:14 p.m., Sonora — A log jam in a creek near Longeway Road caused water flow over the bridge.

5:07 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on Tuolumne Road North gave her old cell phone to her child to play with, but she said she didn’t realize it could still call 911.

8:57 p.m., Columbia — A person at a Wigwam Road mobile home park said her neighbor was doing drugs because he had people over.

11:38 p.m., Jamestown — A person at a Wigwam Road mobile home park said people were harassing him by sending a video of him to everyone.

7:45 p.m., Arnold — A drunk man was found sleeping in a woman’s vehicle on Highway 4 and said he had no idea how he got there.
