An Oakdale woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision Thursday evening after a vehicle occupied by a Modesto resident and a 10-month old boy crashed head on with her car.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Guillermina Goff, 55, was driving a 2010 Toyota Prius westbound on Highway 120, west of Sims Road and east of Yosemite Junction about 6:15 p.m.
A 2004 Ford Explorer, occupied by Cinthia Beglinger, 37, and Arias Ables, 10 months, approached the Prius around a right curve in the road.
The Ford Explorer crossed into the westbound lane, directly in the path of the Prius.
All were wearing seatbelts or were properly restrained, including the child, who was in a rear-facing car seat.
Beglinger declined medical aid, and Ables did not sustain any injuries.
According to the press release, the collision remains under investigation, but neither alcohol nor drugs are not suspected to be factors.
A California Highway Patrol public information officer could not immediately be reached for comment.
