The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY

10:25 a.m., animal complaints — A white van with a green stripe parked at an Old Wards Ferry Road business had two dogs locked inside that appeared to be in distress.

11:24 a.m., theft — A person said that stolen items from a South Washington Street business were pawned.

1:03 p.m., animal complaints — A yellow Labrador retriever barked constantly, but no one ever appeared to be home at a South Barretta Street apartment.

9:30 p.m., controlled substances — A man who appeared to be under the influence urinated on the side of a Sanguinetti Road business.

10:46 p.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A man argued with a Pesce Way store employee after he could not find a specific drink, then went to check a storage room for it.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

9:31 a.m., Sonora — A suspicious man slept in a trailer at a Tuolumne Road business on discarded mattresses and refused to leave even though the trailer was being shipped to Stockton.

10:40 a.m., Jamestown — An Old Melones Dam Road resident said a man was living in her ceiling at night and came in every night at 10 p.m.

2:17 p.m., Sonora — A Longeway Road resident said his estranged wife ransacks his residence every time he leaves.

5:17 p.m., Tuolumne — A small safe was stolen from inside a Cherokee Road residence.

10:10 p.m., Columbia — People were seen going to and from a creek on Columbia College Drive.

2:35 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — Frank Donald Pierro, 68, of the 24000 block of Pine Lake Drive, was booked on suspicion of discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, possession of a specific controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, exhibiting a firearm in the presence of an officer and misdemeanor charges exhibiting a deadly weapon, use of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after an arrest at his home.

8:29 p.m., Sonora — Joseph Michael Cepeda, 22, of the 20100 block of Jamestown Road, was booked on suspicion of possession of shuriken and misdemeanor charges possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia after an arrest at his home.

8:45 p.m., Jamestown — Shantel Marie Crook, 35, of the 200 block of Greenley Road, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of possession of tear gas or a gas weapon while addicted to a narcotic and misdemeanor charges possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia after an arrest on North Drive.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

7:42 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — A vehicle appeared to have been dumped on a Peregrine Road property.

11:50 a.m., Railroad Flat — A suspicious person was seen walking on a John Deere Road property.

8:16 p.m., Valley Springs — A woman was seen walking down Hogan Dam Road carrying a cooler and was possibly camping in the area.

9:24 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A claim of food tampering made by a person on Michel Road was determined to be unfounded.

9:39 p.m., Copperopolis — A person on an Athena Drive balcony set off fireworks.
