The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY
9:38 a.m., traffic accidents — An officer was flagged down on North Washington Street after a motorcycle driver went down near the Red Church. The rider got back on his bike and did not appear to be injured.

10:38 a.m., animal complaints — The foul smell of a dead deer lingered on Monte Vista Lane.

2:16 p.m., theft — A woman opened a product on a shelf on a South Washington Street shelf but refused to pay for it.

8:19 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Two female juveniles were driving in a tan pickup truck on North Stewart Street with someone who may have waved a gun.

8:23 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman went door to door on Oak Street and asked for donations.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

8:57 a.m., Sonora — A traffic stop was made on Longeway Road of a sovereign citizen, or someone who renounces their United States citizenship and refuses to follow laws on the claim of the government’s abuse of power.

1:07 p.m., Columbia — A person on South Airport Road believed someone online was harassing him and extorting money from him.

1:48 p.m., Groveland — A 21-speed Lemond Zurich road bike was stolen from a Mills Street property.

8:01 p.m., Sonora — A Lower Hillview Drive resident scrubbed his driveway in the nude.

9:50 p.m., Groveland — A person on Tip Top Court left his house to get Mexican food and felt “molested” when people stood near him in line. When he was advised this was not a crime, he cussed and said he did not want anyone coming to his house.

8:57 p.m., Jamestown — Timothy Steven Winchester, 53, of the 300 block of East Yak Avenue, Troy, Montana, was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and additional misdemeanor charges driving with a suspended license following an arrest on Highway 49.

10:45 a.m., Sonora — Roy Neal Gillespie, 60, of the first block of East Jackson Street, was booked on suspicion of infliction of corporal injury after an arrest on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

9:04 a.m., Valley Springs — Solar yard lights were stolen from a Cane Lane property.

12:31 p.m., Arnold — Unfamiliar vehicles were parked in a driveway on Evergreen Drive.

5:41 p.m., Valley Springs — A dog was left inside a hot car on Highway 26.

8:23 p.m., San Andreas — A man on Treat Avenue talked to himself and walked in circles.

11:22 p.m., Railroad Flat — People on South Railroad Flat argued over children staying with a relative.

6 p.m., Murphys — Carey Morgan Schwartz, 34, of Vallecito, was booked on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm while not the registered owner and child cruelty after an arrest on the first block of Highway 4.

6 p.m., Murphys — Corbet Fanen Winkler, 44, of Vallecito, was booked on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm while not the registered owner, child cruelty, forging vehicle registration and misdemeanor charges driving without a license after an arrest on the first block of Highway 4.

8:56 p.m., Copperopolis — Robert Edward Condrick III, 21, of the 1200 block of Signal Hill Trail, was booked on suspicion of felony probation violation, receiving known stolen property, evading police with a disregard for safety and misdemeanor charges obstructing a peace officer, driving without a license and possession of unlawful paraphernalia after an arrest on Feather Drive.

11:01 p.m., Angels Camp — Jason Lloyd Copeland, 36, of the 3900 block of Blue Mountain Road, Wilseyville, was booked on suspicion of felony probation violation and misdemeanor charges possession of unlawful paraphernalia and obstructing a peace officer after an arrest on on the 1100 block of South Main Street.
