The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY
4:31 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Someone looked into a building on South Shepherd Street and tried to get in.

9:04 a.m., traffic violations — A person spit on another motorist’s car window at a Greenley Road intersection.

10:19 a.m., theft — A woman on East Lyons Street said a juvenile entered her vehicle and stole money out of her wallet during the night.

3 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person believed they had found a human bone in a Stockton Road parking lot, but an evaluation of the bone determined that it was not human.

8:34 p.m., threats — A man was threatened with a bullet at a South Washington Street bar during the night, then was awakened by a loud knock on his door in the morning.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

2:55 p.m., Sonora — A person on Fitch Ranch Road said someone in Sacramento attempted to cash a check that they wrote.

5:25 p.m., Sonora — A bear was seen in a Jamestown Road park going through the trash, and a mother bear and a baby bear climbed a tree.

5:59 p.m., Jamestown — A Main Street resident said someone moved things around on their front porch.

9:06 p.m., Sonora — A person acted strange at a juvenile facility on Justice Center Drive.

11:21 p.m., Sonora — Oakland Air Route Traffic Control requested a be-On-The-Lookout for four green lasers coming from the city of Sonora that could not be exactly located.

1:00 a.m., Sonora — Avery Michael Smith, 24, of the 200 block of Bonanza Road, was booked on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury following an arrest on South Washington Street.

1:08 a.m., Sonora — Ariz Richard Jacques, 26, of the 18200 block of Jacobs Road, was booked on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury following an arrest on Church Street.

6:00 p.m., Sonora — Richard Allen Garris, 55, of the 15300 block of Blue Bell West, was booked on suspicion of violation of the terms of his post-release community supervision following an arrest on Lower Sunset Drive.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

4:27 p.m., Burson — A vehicle on Lake View Road was broken into.

5:29 p.m., Arnold — A person on Mitchell Drive believed their home had been burglarized but was not sure what had been taken.

6:34 p.m., Burson — A child custody dispute occurred on Sheri Place when a parent refused to pick up children.

7:59 p.m., Valley Springs — People on Hartvickson Lane were involved in an argument.

9:36 p.m., Railroad Flat — A person on Cathey Lane had an ongoing issue with people fishing on private property.
