Vallecito inmate captured
A minimum-security inmate at the Vallecito Conservation Camp who walked away from the camp early Saturday morning was found hiding in a park in the San Andreas area later in the day by law enforcement.
Ernest Anthony Morales, 26, had last been seen at his dorm in the inmate firefighting camp in Vallecito.
He was discovered missing during a routine security check about 2:25 a.m. Saturday.
The search involved the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Office of Correction Safety, the Special Service Unit, the Sierra Conservation Center Investigative Services Unit and the Crisis Response team.
He was found about 9 p.m. Saturday and transferred to Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown, which oversees the Vallecito Conservation Camp.
Morales was sent to CDCR system in June 2017 from Fresno County on a four-year sentence for vehicle theft as a second striker, a CDCR press release stated.
Morales, who has a distinctive tattoo of a stylized mustache on his upper lip, may face additional charges due to his flight from the camp.
Woman accused of bringing drugs to SCC
A female visitor to the Sierra Conservation Center prison in Jamestown was arrested on multiple felonies Sunday morning after she dropped a plastic grocery bag filled with contraband at the main entrance of the building while with her three minor children.
About 11 a.m., an entrance gate officer saw a woman walk toward the main building with her children and drop a plastic grocery bag into the trash can, SCC Litigation Coordinator Michael Steele said.
The officer got the bag, and an outside patrol sergeant looked inside to find five cell phones, and five bindles of controlled substances which included 156.6 grams of methamphetamine, 44.9 grams of heroin and 16.3 grams of marijuana, Steele said.
The woman was interviewed by the Investigative Services Unit in a facility on the prison grounds before she was arrested.
Maura Cecilia Soltero, 31, of Baldwin Park, was booked on suspicion of bringing alcohol or drugs into prison, criminal conspiracy, carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, attempting to deliver a wireless device to an inmate and misdemeanor charges possession of a controlled substance after an arrest at Sierra Conservation Center on O’Byrnes Ferry Road near Jamestown.
Tuolumne County Child Protective Services took custody of the three children.
Suspected domestic abuse in La Grange
A La Grange Road resident was arrested Sunday afternoon after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend at their home on Arbolada Drive.
According to Tuolumne County Sheriff’s logs, about 2:45 p.m. a person on Arbolada Drive in La Grange said he was having domestic issues with his girlfriend, and he had been dropped off by a deputy at his home.
Sgt. Andrea Benson said the man and the victim were involved in physical altercations in both Merced and Tuolumne counties.
During the fight, the victim sustained bruises and cuts, Benson said. Later, in La Grange, the man held the woman down and prevented her from leaving the home.
Karl Ray Holdcraft, 41, identified as a resident of Oklahoma, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury and false imprisonment after an arrest on the 5600 block of Arbolada Drive.
A woman with distinctive and extensive facial tattoos was arrested early Friday for multiple misdemeanor warrants and possession of heroin.
About 2:30 a.m., a Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a black Chevrolet Blazer with an Indiana license for inoperable brake lights near the entrance to Black Oak Casino, Sgt. Andrea Benson said.
The woman was found to have a suspended driver’s license, expired registration on the vehicle, and she could not provide proof of insurance.
A records check confirmed she had three misdemeanor warrants for her arrest, and during a vehicle search 0.6 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia were located.
Shannon Rae Summers, 35, of the 300 block of Ash Street, Modesto, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
