The 61st annual Mother Lode Roundup Parade was held Saturday morning in downtown Sonora.
More than 100 entries marched or rode down Washington Street, including the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Posse, which sponsors the event. Rodeo queens from many areas, including Mother Lode queen Rachelle Snitchler, rode on horseback as did members of various equestrian organizations.
There were vintage cars and marching bands from area high and elementary schools as well as numerous dance schools and emergency vehicles. This year, a number of candidates for office took part in the parade.
As always, the parade ended with the large American flag carried by members of E Clampus Vitus, also known as the Clampers.
